‘Superman: Legacy’ Auditions Leave James Gunn ‘Blown Away’

‘Superman: Legacy’ star casting director James Gunn had a hectic weekend of auditions.

The co-head of DC Studios updated the audience on the casting call, according to ‘Deadline’.

Amazing auditions for Superman: Legacy over the weekend, the director said on Bluesky social.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-31691″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/www.theindiaprint.com-superman-legacy-auditions-leave-james-gunn-blown-away-download-2023-06-20t125850.177.jpg” alt=”” width=”1186″ height=”664″ />

Some of these performers, he observed, “are among the best I’ve ever seen or worked with.”

After many people wondered whether it was the Guardians of the Galaxy director, Gunn acknowledged he was on the brand-new social network.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-31692″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/www.theindiaprint.com-superman-legacy-auditions-leave-james-gunn-blown-away-images-61.jpg” alt=”” width=”1358″ height=”714″ />

On July 11, 2025, Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” is slated for release. He also wrote and directed the movie.

Gunn and Safran’s ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’ DC Universe, which they are creating, is introduced in the film.

The movie chronicles Superman’s struggle to reconcile his human upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas, with his Kryptonian background. He is the personification of honesty, fairness, and the American way, which is based on compassion in a society that considers kindness to be outmoded.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-31693″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/www.theindiaprint.com-superman-legacy-auditions-leave-james-gunn-blown-away-download-2023-06-20t125832.587.jpg” alt=”” width=”1454″ height=”727″ />

Following the director’s statement that he was “narrowing” down the list of players slated to play the Man of Steel on the big screen, Gunn provided an update on the casting of Superman. He seized the opportunity to refute suspicions about the actors whose names were being bandied around for the superhero movie while making an appearance on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum.

There are things in there that are wholly untrue, but I can’t just go out there and say, “Oh this isn’t true, and this isn’t true,” Gunn remarked.<img decoding=”async” loading=”lazy” class=”alignnone wp-image-31694″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/www.theindiaprint.com-superman-legacy-auditions-leave-james-gunn-blown-away-download-2023-06-20t125811.802.jpg” alt=”” width=”1379″ height=”772″ />

“And by the way, that’s not the audience’s business; in fact, at this point, I don’t believe anybody who is screen-testing for a job should be concerned about it. That is a very personal matter,” he said.

The Great Nicholas Hoult, The Politician David Corenswet, and Greyhound Tom Brittney are some of the actors reportedly vying for the role of Superman.

‘Sex Education’ actress Emma Mackey, ‘The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel’ actress Rachel Brosnahan, and ‘Bridgerton’ actress Phoebe Dynevor are all candidates to portray Lois Lane.
