For the World University Games in China, SAI will provide four fencers with financial support

<p>Four fencers from the SAI National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) will get financial assistance from Sports Authority of India (SAI) in preparation for the 2018 World University Games in Chengdu, China.</p>

<p>Since the World University Games are not included in Fencing’s Annual Calendar for Training and Competition (ACTC) preparations, the competitors will have the opportunity to compete internationally.</p>
<p>As a result, SAI has agreed to provide funds for the athletes as a unique circumstance. The competition’s 31st edition is planned to take place from July 28 to August 8.</p>
<p>Hardeep, a race walker from NCOE Bengaluru, and Khyati, a high jumper, are other NCOE athletes who have qualified for the World University Games. Shivangi Chanambam and Parsida Nongmaithem are taekwondo competitors from NCOE Trivandrum. Sanma Brahma, a Wushu practitioner from NCOE Itanagar, is also one of the participants.</p>
