Bollywood filmmaker Dinesh Vijan purchases apartments in Mumbai for Rs. 103 billion

<p>Bollywood producer and director Dinesh Vijan purchased flats in a Rustomjee Group property in Mumbai for Rs 103 crore, a Moneycontrol article citing records discovered by IndexTap.com revealed. Maddock Films was founded by Vijan.</p>
<p>The 9,000 square foot apartment flats are situated on the 15th and 16th floors of the Parishram by Rustomjee building on Nargis Dutt Road in Pali Hill, Mumbai. <p>The papers were signed by Dinesh Prem Vijan and Keystone Realtors. Rs 6.17 crore in stamp duty was paid for the transaction. The apartments’ total carpet area is 7,791 square feet.</p>
<p>Stree, Hindi Medium, Luka Chuppi, Badlapur, Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, and Bhediya are just a few of the critically and financially successful movies that Vijan has produced.</p>
<p>The luxury housing category in India saw a 130% year-over-year increase across the top 7 cities between January and June 2023, maintaining a strong sales pace. According to a research by real estate consultancy CBRE South Asia, there were 6,900 luxury housing units sold in total during the time, up from 3,000 units during the same period last year.</p>
<p>In terms of sales, Delhi-NCR came out on top with 2,900 units sold, representing a 205% year-over-year rise. Mumbai came in second with 1,900 units sold, representing an 18% year-over-year increase.</p>
<p>According to CBRE, “In terms of the quantity of sales of luxury residential units, Delhi-NCR topped with sales of 2,900 units, marking a 205 percent year-over-year increase; followed by Mumbai, which recorded sales of 1,900 units, an 18 percent year-over-year growth; while sales in Kolkata stood at 200 units, registering a 100% Y-o-Y increase; and Pune recorded sale of 300 units, registering a 500 percent Y-o-Y increase during this period.”</p>
<p>The luxury property market had a similar trend during the April to June 2023 quarter throughout the major cities, with sales up 121% year over year. 3,100 luxury housing units were sold in total during the quarter as opposed to 1,400 units during the same period previous year.</p>
